Roman Houses on the Caelian Hill
The Roman houses on the Caelian Hill are one of the most fascinating places in underground Rome. Here you will find extraordinary frescoed rooms, still in excellent condition, that decorated the houses that belonged to noble Roman families.
The domus contain over four centuries of history and it was probably here that two people, converted to the Christian faith, met their deaths and became martyrs. An archaeologist will guide you on a visit to the basement of a church, in one of the most beautiful hills of Rome, located a stone's throw away from the Colosseum.
